Disney’s Frozen 2 is now the highest-grossing animated movie of all time. Having grossed more than $1.32 billion dollars world wide since it’s sequel which was released in 2013, November 22nd. According to Box Office Mojo, Frozen 2 grossed $449 million domestically while grossed a whopping $875 million internationally. Second only to Frozen 2 is the 2018 hit animated series Incredibles 2 (which kept it’s viewers waiting for 15 years) which grossed $1.24 billion worldwide.

Frozen 2 is the sixth Disney movie of 2019 to enter the billion dollar club. The Disney billion dollar club includes Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Aladdin, Toy Story 4 and the Lion King. Frozen 2 which was cleverly released on Thanksgiving weekend took the lead spot at the box-office with few competitors. It crushed the records by becoming the largest opening animated film of all time to gross an astounding $350.2 million dollars on opening week according to Comscore, cited Entertaiment Weekly.

One of the largest contributors to the high gross was China which amassed the biggest bounty of $118 million, followed by Japan’s $103.8 million, Korea $96.2 million and United Kingdom $65 million. Directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, Frozen 2 continues the magical journey with the previous cast of the movie that goes beyond the adventures of their homeland-Arendelle. The film’s voice cast includes Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad and Santino Fontana, Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown.
